Dear Valued Exhibitor,

We would like to inform you that we have made further adjustments to our trade fair schedule this year due to Covid-19 concerns and ongoing travel restrictions.

Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) – previously known as the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair – has been rescheduled for 9 – 13 November 2020 at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE).

JGW was originally set for September at two venues – 13 – 17 September at the AWE (loose precious materials) and 15 – 19 September at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (finished jewellery and other related products).

Please know that we have not taken this decision lightly and have done so given the necessary safety measures and travel restrictions in place. By moving JGW to November this year, we believe we will be better positioned to deliver the in-person sourcing platform that you expect from the industry’s most awaited fair, and in an environment that is safe, secure and more conducive to business. Moving JGW to November, however, is a one-off arrangement in response to the extraordinary circumstances that the industry is currently facing. The show will return to its September slot in 2021.

Exhibitor contracts and payments made for JGW, along with the special exhibitor benefits under the fair’s venue subsidy reinvestment programme announced in May, will carry over to the revised dates. If you wish not to exhibit at the November show, you may roll over your payment to the September 2021 edition.

Exhibitors who continue to participate in the November show will also be given the flexibility to revise their reserved booth spaces. The final booth size, however, should meet the minimum space requirements of the Pavilion or Hall where the exhibitor is booked.

However, I cannot emphasise strongly enough the importance of pushing through with JGW this year to provide industry stakeholders the chance to capture orders from potential customers. We recognise that the spate of show cancellations and postponements in the first half of the year makes the JGW sourcing experience more important than ever for our community. It is the last global sourcing event on the jewellery trade show calendar this year, with the heaviest peak selling season just around the corner.

We have also launched a number of positive actions to enhance your business opportunities at the show, including an increase of at least 100% in our 2020 marketing budget targeting China buyers, a hosted buyer programme, and enhanced exhibitor services and promotions.

Our team will be directly reaching out to you to discuss detailed arrangements about the November event.

We also want you to know that a rigorous safety regime will be enforced at our physical show. In partnership with AWE, JGW will strictly adhere to health and safety guidelines, and enhanced cleaning protocols in accordance with Informa’s AllSecure health and safety standard.

Following up on the postponement of Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA) – formerly known as the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair – we have decided to hold JGA’s next edition in June 2021 in response to the requests of and direct feedback from exhibitors and industry partners. Results of a survey we conducted in early June showed that more than 80 percent of the 700 exhibitors who took part in the poll chose June 2021 as the date for JGA’s next edition.

We will do all that we can to ensure that the plans we have for 2021 are worth the wait. Members of our sales team will also get in touch with JGA exhibitors individually to discuss the arrangements for next year.

We are also planning other ways for our community to get together through a bespoke digital event service, which we will launch later this year. The pilot service, tangible proof of Informa Markets – Jewellery’s efforts to help the luxury jewellery industry get back on track, will be offered free of charge to exhibitors who are active on JewelleryNet, our powerful trading platform. We will be sharing more information about our virtual event service in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

We want to thank you all for your support, understanding and words of encouragement. As many of you have been reminding us, great things happen when we come together as one community. For this reason, we will do everything possible to deliver events that will drive your business further and faster.

Until then, keep well and stay strong!

Yours sincerely,
