2021 AGTA GemFair™ Tucson Canceled 2021 AGTA GemFair™ Tucson Canceled

News,

We would like to begin with a heartfelt expression of gratitude for the participation and support each and every one of you have given us over the 40 years since the AGTA was formed in 1981. The GemFair Tucson, which would be celebrating its 39th anniversary this coming February, has always been a bedrock of our organization. It has provided our members with an unparalleled opportunity for commerce. It has evolved over the years into an unmatched event that has brought us together each year with all of our friends and family that share our passion for colored gemstones and cultured pearls.

This year, we have been confronted with the pandemic that threatens not only our businesses but the lives of our members, our industry partners, our friends, and our families. We have worked hand-in-hand with the Pima County Health Department to develop a show that could be safe and conscientious. Unfortunately, with the trajectory of the spread of the virus, the requirements we would need to meet to produce the show, and the health risks associated with a gathering of this size made the GemFair 2021 untenable and Pima County Health Department has chosen to deny our application for the event.

We understand and appreciate the disappointment this may cause to so many of you, but all our constituents' safety and health are paramount. The AGTA will continue to support you in all ways possible during the coming year, and we will all work to make 2022 AGTA GemFair™ Tucson the finest and most successful ever!

As promised, if you are an exhibitor at GemFair Tucson, any deposits made will be refunded, and your seniority points will be unchanged. Please contact our show team at the office with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Ruben BindraPresident   Douglas HuckerCEO
