Since changing career, Arya has immersed himself in the gemstone industry, training in Switzerland and the USA to gain cutting-edge knowledge. He now holds the prestigious “Coloured Gem Professional Diploma” from Gübelin, a certificate in “Advanced Coloured Gemstones” from SSEF, and an advanced-level certificate in “Gemmological Spectroscopy" from Magilabs. Arya has also been accepted onto SSEF's "Scientific Gemmology" course in 2027.

Before founding Mayfair Gems, Arya had a 23-year career in the oil industry working for a single large multinational. He specialised in jet fuel and was proud to work within an expert team running one of the world’s largest suppliers.

He held many senior management roles with career highlights including implementing quality management systems across the entire global business and designing a groundbreaking platform facilitating the sale of aviation fuel online (that is now in use around the world).

Arya also holds a professional qualification as an ISO9001 Lead Auditor, numerous certifications relating to design, web & database development and a BSc in Business Management. He is an experienced investor in the financial and luxury asset markets and retains a role within his family's business.
