Third ICA poster competition
calls for new entries, extended deadline
February 1
st 2005

New York, March 30: After the first two successful international competitions of posters dedicated to promote colored gemstones (2001: Sydney, Australia; 2003: Jaipur, India), ICA will conduct the 3rd world competition during its next congress that will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2005. The deadline for submitting posters - 31 December 2004

“For this third competition, we look forward to receiving hundreds of entries,” said Yehuda Kassif, an ICA member who is the competition’s spiritual father and the organizing committee’s chief coordinator. “For the competition held in Jaipur, we received some 80 entries, more than double of those entered in Sydney. For the Thai edition, we have begun soliciting much earlier, and we expect colored gemstone lovers with a knack for design to start working on their entries soonest.”

The posters designed for the competition should be colorful, must carry the ICA logo and the association’s full name. ICA ‘s slogan “Go Color” must be added. All written information should be in English. In addition, ICA encourages designers to add a slogan of their own, national languages and thus express the vast interest in colored gemstone worldwide.

A colored printout of the designed poster in the format of one of the following digital formats: jpeg, eps or bmp. These must be sent on a CD to the coordinator of the poster competition’s organizing committee. The file sent must be of print quality, in full poster size and, therefore, must be of a high resolution—not less than 300 DPI. The full poster size is 50x35 centimeters or 20x12 inches. All entries for the poster competition will be exhibited at the ICA congress in Thailand.

By submitting poster designs and posters to the competition, participants relinquish the use of these posters for use in their personal businesses but agree that posters entered into the competition may be used by ICA, for the benefit of the association’s promotional activities and advertising campaigns, all aiming to help advance the sales of colored gemstones worldwide. This may also include the reproduction, distribution and sale of the posters submitted for the contest.

In addition to receiving a monetary prize, the winners of the first, second and third place in the competition will enjoy ample publicity in the international gem and jewelry trade media, as coordinated by the ICA GemBureau.
