ICA Announces Sixth International Poster Competition
Dedicated to Colored Gemstones
New York, NY, June 22, 2010 - The International Colored Gemstone Association has launched the sixth ICA International Poster Competition in connection with the ICA Congress that will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from April 30 to May 4, 2011.
The founder and coordinator of the competition, Yehuda Kassif, who is also the ICA Ambassador to Israel, has issued the call for poster designs - dedicated to the promotion of colored gemstones - to be submitted before February 1st next year.
"The Rio de Janeiro ICA Congress will mark the special and unique contribution of the Brazilian mines as the most exciting source of a vast variety of gemstones, and will salute the miners, cutters, polishers and traders that brought to the world this rainbow of shining colors," said Kassif.
Participation in the poster competition has grown over the years with designers from 35 countries submitting up to 150 entries for judging each year. By organizing these competitions ICA encourages its members as well as members of the colored gemstone community at large, art students, and graphic designer to find new, creative ideas to promote the appreciation of colored gemstones.
All poster entries will be exhibited during the ICA Congress in Rio de Janeiro where ICA members and congress delegates will vote for their favorite designs. Four top posters will be announced at the congress gala dinner; the three top winners will receive cash prizes. Following the congress ICA will use the posters in its publications and online to promote colored gemstones.

Competition Guidelines:
Poster Size: 35 x 50 cm (12 x 20 in). All entries should carry the ICA logo and name in full. (The logo and ICA official name can be download from ICA website. ) A written slogan, in English, can be added, however; ICA strongly encourages designers to also include the slogan in their native language.
Participants must submit a color printout of the poster only in A4 size, along with the digital file on disk or flash drive in one of the following formats: pdf, jpeg, eps, tif. The file should be at least 36 MB and the resolution no less than 300 dpi.
The deadline for submitting posters is 1st February 2011.
The color print and the digital file on disk or flash drive should be submitted only to the Coordinator of the Organizing Committee (contact details below).
By submitting a poster to the competition a designer declares that he/she is the rightful owner of the images used in the poster and/or is permitted to use them, and acknowledges that the poster will be used by ICA in any form and manner the organization chooses.
