Overall, the biggest trends in color Oscar night were found in statement earrings, large or small, modern, vintage, linear or chandelier; big gemmy pendants, brooches and fashion rings; and impressive gem-set necklaces. So, when dressing for your big it occasion, keep these style tips in mind:
- Match your jewelry to the size of your body and features. Generally, small jewelry gets lost on a large figure, while bold jewelry can overpower the petite. Find the right proportions for your frame.
- Drop earrings can elongate your neck and face and make you look taller, but styles that are too long can have the opposite effect. A safe length is just below the jawline.
- Tone your jewelry to your outfit and each other to make everything look unified. When looking at your outfit, only one piece should stand out.
- Have one or two statement jewels on hand, something glam that you love for special occasions. Try earthy citrine briolette cluster earrings that warm the face and/or a bold ring in a pastel gem like morganite, light aquamarine or lemon beryl that goes with everything.
