When planning your award-winning outfit, discover the colors that best suit your skin tone, hair and eyes by experimenting with lots of different shades. To make everything look unified, tone your jewelry to your outfit and to each other. Only one piece should really stand out. If youre wearing a camel-colored sheath, try small wooden or matte-gold bangles and matt gold studs. Then you can add a warm citrine necklace to spice things up. Remember, the most important step toward developing your personal style is wearing accessories that you truly love and colored gemstones offer something special for everyone.

Los Angeles, CA: "People" proclaimed the coveted Emmys, primetime televisions biggest night in Hollywood, as the Gemmy Awards. The celebrity "trends-tracking magazine" hailed that ice is nice, but so are amethysts and emeralds, noting that warm-hued gems share the stage with Art Deco sparklers as star favorites.
The Red Carpet at Emmy central, the famous Kodak Theatre at Hollywood and Highland, was awash in color as A-list stars flaunted big, bold gems in platinum and gold. Whether tone on tone or in contrasting shades, celebrities showed their true colors in apparel and accessories, giving new meaning to what constitutes a black tie affair.

Jewelry expert Michael OConnor, based in New York City, concurs that this years trends include platinum garnished in vivid gemstones, a return to old Hollywood glamour, and layered pieces with lots of versatility.
