Some of the social highlights were the following: May 12, Premiere of Robin Hood, featuring Oscar winner Cate Blanchett. May 13, Chopard Trophy Night honored Liya Kebede and actor Edward Hoog. On May 15, Woody Allen and the cast of his new film “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger” celebrated their movie premiere with grand style. On May 17, Chopard celebrated its 150th Anniversary with a major bash including a musical set by Lionel Ritchie. On May 19, Chopard and Muzo International, which has been managing the production of Colombia’s most famous emerald mine since 2009, collaborated on an evening on the theme of “emerald green”. The terrace of the Chopard Lounge, located on the 7th floor of the Martinez Hotel was transformed into a luxuriant jungle, for an exceptional “Green Party”. The latter company, whose mine is renowned for its high-quality stones, also exhibited some of its finest gems. The color is, invariably, associated with Colombia, and, specifically, Muzo, the largest and most prestigious of the country’s mines, and located about 100 kilometers, or 60 miles, north of Bogotá. Therefore, Muzo International chose to exhibit this exceptional 150 carat emerald destined to be glorified by the Swiss company. Here is a rough allowing for a 150 carat emerald of the highest quality; Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele will imagine a unique piece which will be revealed later in the year.

Starting with a 60 carat square-cut gemstone, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, co-president of Chopard, dreamed up a graceful and magnificient necklace that she was proudly wearing at the party.
